An Antique Harp Chair

I got 2 of these antique harp chairs for $10 each. They were a bit rough and needed to be secured a bit.

I sanded and cleaned, primed and painted this beauty in a black enamel and covered it with some black and white flower fabric.

I was going to do the other chair in reverse, but I really like the black.

Coffee Table for more than just coffee

I am not a big fan of the orangey colored wood. I prefer dark woods.
This was a $10 find that was very dusty and dirty. Nothing a little TSP couldn't handle.

So after a bit of cleaning, I have it all primed and ready to be painted.
It has fantastic leaf designed details.

Now..... what color? Or colors?

Rock-a-billy Chic Dining Set

This is the first project I started on and it still is not done!! It consists of 7 chairs, an antique dining table and a buffet. The chairs are 95% done. The dining table is 50% done and I started to clean the buffet. Here are a few pics. I love it so far. I can't wait to see the end result.
These are what the chairs looked like before. $20 for all 7 of them.

And here is how they turned out.

Here are the chairs with the primed table. I am going to paint the legs the same color blue as on the cushion of the chairs and keep the top white, then distress the whole thing.

I don't have a picture of the buffet yet, but I'll try to get a before picture of it before I start priming. I will try!!

A Queen for a Queen

I got this Queen/Full sized bed off Craigslist for $20. Yes, $20. It was your typical wood bed with a few gouges and nicks. I liked the details on it and wanted to make them stand out. What better way than to paint it a light color and distress it a bit. I had the primer already on hand and the paint was from the Walmart oops section for $3.75.  I really liked the result and the fact I sold it for $100. Yipee!

Happy Halloween!!

Okay, so it has taken a little longer than I thought to get into this. Not one of my top priorities, but making an effort.
For the halloween season I wanted to try something festive and different. My stepmom has been using a lot of bright yellows, greens and oranges around the ol' homestead and I loved the results. I LOVE color, and as you will find out, I am not afraid to use it. There is WAY to much beige going on in the world today and this is my attempt to put a little color back in it! All my pieces are for sale, so if you see something you like, leave me a comment and we'll get in touch.
I think I'm gonna paint the inside a turquoise.

Test

Good Evening! I am sooo new at this and am a bit overwelmed.  I am just testing the waters on how this whole blogging thing works. The only thing I know about it, is what I have seen from the Julie and Julia movie that I saw... once. So, here goes. Wish me luck and I hope to be back for more. Thank you and good night!!
